I am sure that most of you are now aware of the techniques employed by fraudsters who ask amongst other things for you to:
- Sort a Virus or slow computer
- Fix your broadband connection
- Validate your email address
- Reactivate your account because of service upgrades.
Unfortunately it is all so easy to be taken in. I would urge you to look through the various links on our Neighbourhood watch page .
There is also way of reporting these incidents please follow this link for more information
In addition listed below is a recent Police Connect message asking for people to help in a survey to identify the extent of the problems.
This message has been sent on behalf of Action Fraud (National Fraud Intelligence Bureau)
he City of London Police, in partnership with Get Safe Online, has put together a National Cyber Crime Survey.
The purpose of the survey is to learn about people’s awareness of online safety and experiences of cybercrime, with a view to improve our knowledge and understanding and to help provide a better response to victims. The results will help police forces gain a better idea of the challenges they are facing.
If you have a spare 15 minutes, we would be grateful if you could complete a short questionnaire. The link can be found here: https://www.surveymonkey.co.uk/r/CybercrimeSurvey2016
